Application of carbon composite rings in small animal Ilizarov fixator's structure

The Ilizarov ring fixator possesses unique biomechanical properties which allow for its wide range of use in fractures, pseudoarthroses, non-unions, deformities and limb shortening treatment. The new models are made of titan, aluminium and carbon composite elements. The aim of this study was to evaluate the strength parameters of the Ilizarov fixators for small animals. Three different models of apparatus were examined.
