Application of permethrin in forestry nurseries: residues in seedlings and exposure of workers

Application of permethrin in forestry nurseries: residues in seedlings and exposure of workers

Baltic Forestry 9(1): 75-80

ISSN/ISBN: 1392-1355

A study was conducted to determine the residues of permethrin in the needles and stems of pine and spruce seedlings after tractor spraying operations. Permethrin was used against the pine weevil (Hylobius abietis) at two forestry nurseries (Nursery A and Nursery B) in Finland. The study also aimed to evaluate the exposure of nursery workers via inhalation and skin to permethrin during the spraying of the insecticide, and during the cleaning and washing of the tractor sprayers.
