Assembly of triglyceride-transporting plasma lipoproteins

The 4 main classes of plasma lipoprotein (chylomicrons, very low-density lipoproteins (VLDLs), low-density lipoproteins, high-density lipoproteins), their subclasses and their interrelationships are briefly discussed. The general features of chylomicrons and VLDLs are described and editing of apo-B mRNA is outlined. The molecular events in the assembly of VLDLs in the liver are presented.
