Biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons by selected microorganisms isolated from the Egyptian soil

Biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons by selected microorganisms isolated from the Egyptian soil

African Journal of Mycology and Biotechnology 11(1): 91-108

Most of the studied bacteria and all of the actinomycetes were isolated from clay soil polluted with 10% petroleum oil, while all the fungal species were isolated from sandy soil with the same oil concentration. Because all of the above microorganisms developed well on 10% oil pollutants they were selected and studied for their oil biodegradation activities.
