The study concerned carbon dioxide measurements taken during the 1997, 1998 and 1999 summer campaigns at two different altitude stations in Italy with different biospheric conditions. The higher station (Mt. Cimone, 2165 m altitude) is characterized by a 360 degrees free horizon and is located on a rocky mountain with no nearby crops or human activity, while the lower (Ninfa Lake, 1550 m) is located inside a red spruce/beech forest (Picea abies/Fagus sylvatica).
