Characteristics of ethanol-extracted chlorophyll-related compounds from salted brown seaweed, Konbu Laminaria japonica and its use on seasoning extractive of Konbu

Chorophyll-related compounds were extracted in ethanol from unsalted and salted brown seaweeds and some vegetable sources and analysed by HPLC. The ethanol-extracted chlorophyll-related compounds from salted Laminaria japonica were the best at conferring a greenish colour with a pleasant odour when combined with a seasoning extract of Konbu.
