Characterization and expression of two genes encoding ethylene receptors in peach fruit

Characterization and expression of two genes encoding ethylene receptors in peach fruit

Acta Horticulturae (592): 583-587

We have isolated two peach (Prunus persica) genes (Pp-ETR1 and Pp-ERS1) that are homologous to the Arabidopsis thaliana ethylene receptors, ETR1 and ERS1. Pp-ETR1 is similar to At-ETR1 in terms of exon number and intron position although the first and fifth intron are 5 and 20 times longer, respectively. In addition, two putative polyadenilation sites that may cause an incomplete splicing at the 3' terminus are present in the fifth intron.
