Brucella abortus rough lipopolysaccharide (LPS) mutants were obtained by transposon insertion into two wbk genes (wbkA (putative glycosyltransferase; formerly rfbU) and per (perosamine synthetase)), into manB (pmm (phosphomannomutase; formerly rfbK)), and into an unassigned gene.
