The HAL1 gene was amplified with PCR using Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y2 genomic DNA as template, and the PCR product was cloned into the pGEM-T easy vector. Sequence analysis showed that the HAL1 gene contained 885 nucleotides and shared 99.6% identity with a published sequence.
