Comparative analysis of alpha -tubulin sequences of the psychrophilic alga Chloromonas sp. with the mesophilic alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and the thermophilic higher plant Eleusine indica showed that the replacement of Met268 on Val was responsible for the regulation of tubulin dimer-dimer interaction and cold adaptation in the psychrophilic alga.
