Combining ability for nine inbred lines of maize in two locations

Two field trials were conducted during 1991 and 1992, at two locations (Nao Me Toque and Tapera) in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, to evaluate the combining ability for ear height, stalk-root, lodging, prolificacy and grain yield in nine inbred lines of maize. Analysis of general (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) showed that the genotypes had different performance in the two environments.
