Combining ability studies in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Current Research University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore 29(9/10): 150-151

The general and specific combining ability (GCA and SCA, respectively) of 32 rice hybrids developed by crossing 4 cytoplasmic sterile lines and 8 restorers as testers (ARC-113-5-3, Shakthi, PAU 1124-45-3-2, PAU-1126-47-2-1, IR28238-109-1-3-2, IR4675-101-3-3-2-2, IR5290-9-BB-1-1 and IR72), along with Jaya, IR20, Rasi and KRH-1 as control, were evaluated in a field experiment conducted in Karnataka, India during the wet season of 1995.
