Hydatid cyst is a disease which is caused by the larvae of Echinococcus granulosus. The infection may generally be observed in liver, lung, and spleen as well as other organs. The diagnosis of hydatid cyst is made by imaging methods and indirect immunological techniques. On the other hand, direct microscopic examination of the cyst fluid makes diagnosis possible.
