Comparison of seasonal change of specific gravity, dry matter accumulation and starch content of four potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) varieties

Comparison of seasonal change of specific gravity, dry matter accumulation and starch content of four potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) varieties

Acta Horticulturae 579: 255-258

ISSN/ISBN: 0567-7572

The purpose of this research was to determine dry matter accumulation on potato tubers under Erzurum ecological conditions in 1998 and 1999. For this study, cultivars Granola, Caspar, Kondor, and Pasinler-92 were used. The first sampling date on 18 August and continued in 15-day intervals until the harvest (16 October). At four different growing seasons and at the harvest time, specific gravity (SG) and dry matter (DM) and starch content (SC) of potato tubers were determined.
