A study was conducted in Pakistan to determine the response of cane cultivars to appropriate seedbed preparations in September 1999-2000 and 2000-01. Sugarcane cultivars CP 77-400 and LHo83-153 were subjected to zero (no seedbed preparations), minimum (2 ploughing + 2 plankings) and recommended (chiselling + 4 ploughing + 4 plankings) seedbed preparations.
