The growth, saw log ratio, pathological status, understorey, ground cover, and herbal vegetation were studied in the 35- to 60-year-old self-regenerated forest areas of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), ash (Fraxinus excelsior), birch (Betula pendula), black alder (Alnus glutinosa), aspen (Populus tremula), and grey alder (Alnus incana), and in the 7- to 100-year-old plantations of Scots pine and Norway spruce (Picea abies) on abandoned agricultural lands in Lithuania.
