Conflicts between conservation agriculture and livestock over the utilisation of crop residues

Conflicts between conservation agriculture and livestock over the utilisation of crop residues

Conservation agriculture, a worldwide challenge First World Congress on conservation agriculture, Madrid, Spain, 1-5 October, 2001 Volume 1: keynote contributions: 211-225

The importance of crop-livestock integration within the framework of conservation agriculture is discussed. The challenges facing the small-scale farming systems, i.e. land tenure, farm size and landscape, are mentioned. A discussion on feeding systems and nutrient cycling, depending on crop residue availability, grazing and manure management, is also presented.
