An investigation of the ethanolic extract of the pods of Albizia lebbeck resulted in the isolation of a flavone, 3',5-dihydroxy-4',7-dimethoxyflavone (1) and a nitrogenous compound, N-benzoyl-L-phenylalaninol (2). The structures of 1 and 2 were independently elucidated on the basis of 2D NMR data and confirmed by comparison with previously reported values. The HSQC and HMBC experiments with 1 allowed complete and unambiguous assignment of its 13C NMR data.
