A transformation-competent artificial chromosome (TAC) library of rice blast fungus, Magnaporthe grisea, was constructed in a vector pYLTAC7. The library contains 16 128 individual clones and approximately 74% of the clones harbour foreign DNA inserts with an average size of 59 kb. The content of the library corresponds to 18 equivalents of the genome.
