A plant expression vector with resistance to both virus and aphid was constructed by inserting the Galanthus nivalis agglutinin gene (GNA) and the pokeweed antiviral protein gene (pHI121/ alpha -PAP). GNA and alpha -PAP were transferred into tobacco using Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation system and under kanamycin selection pressure.
