A study was conducted to evaluate by gas-liquid chromatography both the qualitative and quantitative properties of the volatile oil from lavender (L. angustifolia) flowers gathered from annual (18, 25 and 31 August 2001), biennial (8 July 2001) and quadrennial cultivations (15 July 2001), as well as commercial raw material, in Goza district, Poland. Thin layers of the gathered material were dried, and flowers were separated from their stalks and stored.
