The seedling response to high Cu concentrations (1 and 10 micro M CuSO<sub>4</sub>. 5 H<sub>2</sub>O) was studied in A. triuncialis, A. geniculata, A. cylindrica and Haynaldia villosa The negative effect of Cu on the root growth was recorded at both concentrations, while the shoot growth was inhibited at 10 micro M. The most tolerant was A. triuncialis, followed by A. geniculata.
