The records of 1090 boars (Belgian Landrace, Hampshire, Duroc, Pietrain and synthetic Line 990 breeds; approx. 180 days old) were studied. Correlation coefficients were calculated using values of the following traits: age, liveweight, daily liveweight gain, backfat thickness, height of the loin eye, and carcass lean content. Significant positive correlations between mean daily liveweight gain and backfat thickness were established.
