Two known preconcentration techniques (instrumental multiple injection GF-AAS and solvent extraction followed by back-extraction and GF-AAS determination) have been compared for the purpose of applying them to atmospheric wet and dry depositions collected with a DDAS sampler (Dry Deposition on aquatic surface), in which Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and V concentrations are often lower than the detection limit of the commonly adopted analytical techniques.
