This paper evaluates the relationship between leaf characteristics (e.g. leaf area, width, number, orientation, venation, and chlorophyll content, and mesophyll cell orientation) and photosynthesis in C4 plants, particularly in sugarcane, and mentions the linear relationship among photosynthesis, photosynthate production, and juice sucrose content.
