Cytomorphological studies of F2 hybrid with 2n=54 chromosome obtained from the F2 segregants of a cross between S. furcatum (2n=72) and S. sarrachoides (2n=24) showed several segregants with different chromosome numbers like 2n=56, 2n=68 and 2n=72. The F3 hybrids showed a wide range of meiotic abnormalities. The pollen fertility ranged from 28.41-69.03%.
