This letter is in response to a published case of endometritis caused by Trichosporon beigelii in a 74-year-old woman (Chan, R. M. T., et al., Clinical Infectious Diseases (2000) 31; 621). Because T. beigelii has been rejected as a species in the taxonomic revision of the genus Trichosporon, a subculture of the aetiological agent was re-examined.
