Turkey has several monumental tree stands of Pinus nigra. Two of them are located near Antalya province. The research described was carried out to determine the dendrochronological potential of monumental trees and to find out the relationships between the width of tree rings and climatic records of mean monthly temperature and total monthly precipitation. A total of 40 increment cores was extracted from 20 trees at each of the 2 sites (Cevizli and Alanya); the stand ages were 500 yr.
