Descriptions of four new and five known species of the genus Plectus Bastian (Nematoda: Plectidae) from Japan

Nine species of the genus Plectus are described and illustrated from Japan. Plectus niaensis sp. nov. is 1.0-1.1 mm long, a=29-38, c=8.5-10.0 and is characterized by a thick body cuticle with coarse annulations and stoma with strongly tapered walls. P. kyotoensis sp. nov. have 1.0-1.1 mm long body, a=27-32, c=6.8-7.4 and is characterized by a lower head, larger amphids and four lateral lines.
