Development of a metamodel for large-scale assessment of water and nutrient fluxes - first components and initial tests for the Elbe River basin

Development of a metamodel for large-scale assessment of water and nutrient fluxes - first components and initial tests for the Elbe River basin

Regional management of water resources Proceedings of a symposium held during the Sixth IAHS Scientific Assembly, Maastricht, Netherlands, 18-27 July 2001: 263-269

The paper describes the concept and two components of a metamodel for rapid integrated assessment of water and nutrient fluxes in the Elbe River basin. The main idea of the metamodel is to make maximum use of simulation results from process-based models through second-order modelling at a generalized level.
