A new method for measuring the rates of ribulose-bisphosphate (RuBP) carboxylase degradation was developed. The new method involves efficient purification of the enzyme from a desalted extract of duckweed (Lemna minor), the production of anti-RuBP carboxylase antibodies, double labelling of the leaf proteins with 3H and 35S methionine, and the immunoprecipitation of RuBP carboxylase.
