Development of blood lipid parameters in humans following the introduction of linseed, rich in linolenic acid (n-3), into the food of animals reared for human consumption

OCL Oleagineux, Corps Gras, Lipides 8(4): 333-335

Consuming foodstuffs from animals fed linseed-added diets induces significant modifications of consumers' plasma and erythrocyte fatty acid parameters and in particular an increase in C18: 3 n-3, comparable to that noted under the "Cretan" diet. Those modifications are also accompanied by a sharp increase in CLA.
