The efficiency of meristem culture for virus disease eradication from Musa sp. was studied. Banana Williams BSJ (ITC 0579) plants were used for this study. Plants were infected by one of the 3 following viruses: cucumber mosaic virus, banana bunchy top virus and the banana streak virus. Meristems were excised from in vivo plants, from in vitro plants and from highly proliferating meristems.
