Further developmental aspects of Meinel's 'theory of movement/sports motoricity' are discussed. First this branch of science is analysed from the point of view of history and sociology in the context of the traditional foci of teaching and research. Movement coordination, movement regulation, and action regulation are identified as theoretical fields of an integrative movement science.
