Direct production of white sugar in cane mills: technical and economic aspects

International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists Proceedings of the XXIV Congress Brisbane Australia 17-21 September 2001 1: 108-111

A process developed for white sugar production directly in cane mills is discussed. The current contribution is a continuation of a long-term pilot study on the feasibility of the new process. The data obtained in pilot trials indicate that, in addition to producing white sugar, the new process allows the manufacture of raw sugar of superior quality compared to the conventional process.
