A survey was conducted in khesari growing areas of different localities around Dholi-Pusa in Samastipur and Muzafferpur districts of Bihar, India. Soil and root samples were collected from the rhizosphere of plants exhibiting lack of vigour, stunting, chlorosis and reduction in leaf size from different fields. Samples were collected from root zones up to a depth of 15-30 cm.
