Distribution of lesions of gummosis of Phytophthora on trunks of black wattle

Distribution of lesions of gummosis of Phytophthora on trunks of black wattle

Boletim de Pesquisa Florestal 40: 35-44

The main phytosanitary problem in black wattle (Acacia mearnsii) in Brazil is a disease that occurs in the trunks, known as gummosis of Phytophthora. This disease causes necrotic lesions in the bark. A study was carried out to determine the distribution pattern of gummosis lesions in the trunks of 1260 trees in Ponta Grossa, PR, and 826 trees in Butia, RS. All trees were less than 3 years of age.
