Dosage optimization and mass culture of the fungal bio-agent Aspergillus niger against root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) infecting tomato

The growth and sporulation of A. niger in various culture media, i.e. crushed rice grains, neem oil cake, and cotton and Eugenia jambolina leaf powder, were evaluated to determine the most suitable medium for A. niger culture in vitro. Flasks containing the fungal colony and the substrates, singly (40 g each) or in combination (2:1:1), were incubated for 15 days. A. niger grew well on all media.
