Dry matter yield and botanical composition of smooth bromegrass genotypes

Changes in dry matter productivity and botanical composition of 8 smooth bromegrass (Bromus inermis) genotypes from Bulgaria and Russia and a standard cultivar Morava from Bulgaria grown under drought conditions in foothill region of Central Northern Bulgaria during 1990-92 was studied. The greatest dry matter production (17.82 tonnes/ha) was recorded from KKP No.10 genotype (from Bulgaria), with 19.7% more than the standard cultivar. In 1992, the same genotype prevailed in the sward (78.8%).
