Most commonly used components of the basic density of a growth ring are earlywood density, latewood density, and latewood ratio. Various arbitrarily chosen criteria have been used as a demarcation of the earlywood-latewood boundary. The present study was conducted to compare genetic parameter estimates of ring density (RD) components using various demarcation criteria.
