Echocardiographical findings of heartworm disease with Paradoxic septum motion and caval syndrome in a pug dog

Echocardiographical findings of heartworm disease with Paradoxic septum motion and caval syndrome in a pug dog

Journal of Veterinary Clinics 18(3): 297-303

A female pug was presented with severe anaemia, dyspnoea and haemoglobinuria. By B- and M-mode echocardiography, a large number of heartworms were found in the right ventricle, right atrium and pulmonary artery. The heartworm mass was moved from the right ventricle to the right atrium with the motion of the tricuspid valve. Paradoxic septum motion were visible in the M-mode of the left ventricular outflow tract and chordae tendineae level short-axis view.
