The efficacy of reflective ribbon, manual drumming, and scarecrows in repelling P. krameri from maize (cv. Sheetal) fields was evaluated in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. Maize was sown on 4 November Approximately 50 birds attacked the fields at the onset of tassel formation on 21 March. Manual drumming was conducted for 2 h in the morning and evening, and the birds shifted their position across the field to avoid the drummer but did not leave the field altogether.
