An ecological investigation of ticks and tick-borne blood protozoa in animals of Modhupur forest area, Tangail (Bangladesh) was conducted during July 1999 to June 2000. A total of 1143 cattle, 558 goats, 106 dogs, 68 pigs, 24 jackals, 11 cats, 3 civets, 7 mongoose, 9 horses and 2 animal attendants were examined for tick infestation. Blood samples from 239 cattle, 123 goats, 67 dogs, 27 pigs, 20 jackals, 6 cats, 5 civets, 9 mongoose, 6 horses and 2 animal attendants were examined for protozoa.
