Analysis of the effects of trade liberalization on Egyptian cropping pattern during the period 1990-2000 shows a decline in the area under cotton, fodder crops (mainly clover), and aromatic and medicinal plants, and an increase in the area under oil plants, sugar crops, vegetables, and fruit crops.
