A study on the effect of N-methyl-D,L-aspartate (NMA) on growth performance and carcass characteristics of 84 finishing pigs (Duroc x Landrace x Yorkshire), with body weight of about 51 kg, was undertaken for 44 days. Pigs were divided into 2 groups by body weight and sex, with 3 replications in each group. The basal diet was maize-soyabean meal and 50 mg/kg of NMA was added to the treatment diet. The addition of NMA improved average daily gain by 9.31% and feed efficiency by 7.16%.
