A field experiment was carried out during the summer and south west monsoon seasons of 1997, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India to study the effects of NPK levels on nutrient uptake and quality of sunflower Co4. The treatments comprised of 5 NPK rates (40:20:20, 50:25:25, 60:30:30, 70:35:35 and 80:40:40 kg/ha) and 4 seed setting treatments (control, hand pollination, spraying at ray floret opening stage of 0.2% borax + 2% diammonium phosphate (DAP), and 1 ppm brassinolide).
