Rosin is a mixture of abietic and pimaric acids with small amounts of neutral materials. Modifying these acids could widen its utilization. An example of a modified rosin is the maleic rosin. This study was intended to find out the effect of acid concentration on the yield and physico-chemical properties of maleic rosin. The main objective was to determine a proper condition for manufacturing maleic rosin which could fulfill the standard requirements.
