In the present experiment, the effects of clutch size on egg production in Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) was investigated. A total of 131 six-week-old female quails were kept in individual cages and daily egg productions and egg weights were recorded over a period of six months. At the end of the production period, the analysed phenotypic correlations between clutch numbers, clutch size, pause numbers, pause size, hen-day egg production and egg weight were calculated.
