A field study was conducted in Akola, Maharashtra, India, from 1995-96 to 1997-98, to study the effect of different planting dates on the flower yield of annual chrysanthemum (C. coronarium). Transplanting was done at 10-day intervals, starting from 5 October to 5 January. Maximum height, peduncle length and number of branches per plant were obtained when the transplanting dates were on 5 and 15 October. The tallest plants were obtained with the 5 October transplanting date.
