Effect of different factors on the in vitro plant regeneration from leaflets of five genotypes of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)

The effect of different culture media on the regeneration of leaf tissue of 5 lines was studied. The response was determined by evaluation of the rate of: development (TD) and prolificity (TP). Significant differences between the culture media used were found. The best results were obtained with MS media supplemented with 0.175 mg NAA and 1.5 mg BA/litre. The effect of genotype on morphogenesis was also studied using the same parameters and calli percentage (PC).
